Assam MBBS Counselling 2023 schedule is soon to be announcedDME Assam is the counselling authority to conduct MBBS/BDS Counselling for the seats offered by medical colleges in Assam. As far as MBBS/BDS seats are concerned, there are 1000 UG medical seats and 150 BDS seats in total. There are a total of 9 medical colleges in Assam including Dhubri Medical College and Hospital which became operational in 2022 with due permission of NMC New Delhi and is governed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Govt. of Assam.

Assam MBBS Counselling 2023: Counselling Process


Assam MBBS Counselling 2023 is a centralised online counselling process conducted by DME Assam. The sole authority to conduct online Assam MBBS Counselling 2023 is the Directorate of Medical Education i.e. DME, Assam. 


Candidates need to visit the official website at https://dme.assam.gov.in for registration based on the NEET UG 2023 Score. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in government medical colleges in the state of Assam. As of now, there is no private medical college in Assam.


Admissions to the Medical/Dental/Ayush colleges of Assam are solely based on the NEET UG 2023 score. Only NEET 2023 qualified candidates can participate in the Assam MBBS Counselling 2023. The details are shared in the article below.

Registration:


  • Candidates have to register on https://dme.assam.gov.in and submit the counselling fee which is Rs. 500 (Irrespective of the category) through Internet banking or any online mode.


  • DME Assam will publish the Assam MBBS 2023 seat allotment list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:


  • Candidates need to fill in online choices at https://dme.assam.gov.in by using their registration number and password generated at the time of registration.


  • Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.

Allotment Result:



  • Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter, which must be produced when reporting to the allotted college.


  • Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to the Office of DME:


  • This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the Office of DME, Assam Khanapara, Guwahati-22, with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.


  • Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will take place.

Assam MBBS Counselling 2023: Eligibility Criteria


  • Candidates must have qualified for NEET UG 2023.

  • Candidates must have the domicile of Assam (Differ for All India Quota)

  • Candidates must have passed 12th from a recognized board

  • Candidates must have attained 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2023 (born on or after 31st Dec 2006)

Candidates who are qualified for NEET UG 2023 conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), are eligible to participate in the Assam MBBS Counselling 2023. Among the sequence of events of NEET UG Counselling 2023 conducted by DME Assam, the last event is to report to the college before the last date of admission.
