Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences is one of the oldest medical institutes in Andhra Pradesh. The medical college was named after the famous freedom fighter Alluri Sitaramaraju. This is one of the top private medical colleges and the attached teaching hospital was established in 1999 as a non-profit society. 

Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences is popularly known as ASRAM College. Since the inception of the college in 1999, an annual intake of 100 MBBS students was granted by the Medical Council of India. Necessary permission was also obtained from MCI, Govt. of India, and Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. The medical college is affiliated with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. Postgraduate courses in all broad specialties were started in 2007. 

From 2009-10 onwards, an annual intake of 150 MBBS students had been granted by the National Medical Commission. As far as the location of the college is concerned, Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences and its attached hospital are located adjacent to NH-5. It is 3 km from Eluru railway station and 35 km from Vijayawada Airport. The medical college is very much well connected to the other parts of the country by Road and airway.

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec’ 2021. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31st Dec’21 are not eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before the 31st of July in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences Eluru offers MD and MS Courses along with the Superspecialty program. 

Students who wish to take admission to this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Vijayawada. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling.
