UP MBBS Counselling 2024: Registration (To be Announced), Important Dates, Counselling Process, Participating Colleges, and More


Uttar Pradesh MBBS Counselling 2024 schedule is to be announced soon. Candidates can register from the date mentioned in the schedule released by UPDGME. UPDGME i.e. Uttar Pradesh Directorate General of Medical Education and Training is assigned to conduct the Counselling for all medical/dental colleges to ensure admissions to MBBS/BDS programs. Candidates can visit https://dgme.up.gov.in for the latest counselling updates.


NEET 2024 is the sole entrance exam for medical/dental/nursing college admission. Aspirants need to qualify for NEET-UG 2024 followed by the counselling conducted by MCC New Delhi to get admission to any undergraduate program facilitated by different colleges across India. Currently, UPDGME conducts counselling for 41 Government and 35 Private Medical Colleges in 85% state quota. There are a total of 10834 MBBS Seats in the medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh. 


Candidates seeking admission to MBBS in the top medical colleges in UP need to participate in the counselling that goes up to four rounds followed by a stray vacancy round. From 2024 onwards, 7 new government medical colleges apart from 2 new private medical colleges have been permitted by NMC to provide admission.

UP NEET UG Counselling 2024: Counselling Process


UP MBBS Counselling 2024 schedule is to be released soon in August. Interested candidates who are NEET-UG 2024 qualified with certain eligibility can participate in the online counselling process to get admission to MBBS Program. DGME i.e. Directorate General of Medical Education & Training is the counselling authority of the state for conducting the entire counselling process for the students seeking admission to MBBS/BDS programs in the colleges in Uttar Pradesh.


The entire Counselling process is conducted online by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Lucknow on behalf of UPDGME. Candidates need to qualify for NEET-UG 2024 followed by the counselling conducted by UPDGME Lucknow. For more details, candidates can visit https://dgme.up.gov.in. 

Registration:


  • Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://upneet.gov.in and submit the registration fee which is Rs. 2,000 through Internet banking or any online mode.


  • UP DGME will publish the UP MBBS 2024 merit list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:


  • Candidates need to fill in online choices at https://upneet.gov.in by using their registration number and password created at the time of registration.


  • Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill in choices as many as they wish.

Documents Verification:


  • Candidates need to upload all the original documents required for pursuing the counselling process.


  • As per the selected Nodal center by the candidates at the time of registration, candidates need to produce all original documents at the selected Nodal center and receive the confirmation slip for future reference. 

Allotment Result:



  • Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter, which must be produced when reporting to the allotted college.


  • Seats are allotted to the candidates based on rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:


  • This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.


  • Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will take place.

Security Deposit:


Candidates participating in the UP MBBS Counselling 2024, need to deposit security money to pursue the counselling process to confirm their admission to UP Medical/Dental colleges. It is mandatory to deposit the security money before the choice filling so that the candidate can move forward with the choice filling and merit list. 


More details can be availed from https://dgme.up.gov.in. candidates will be barred from the counselling process if the security deposit is not made before the last date mentioned in the schedule. The details are mentioned below.

UP NEET UG Counselling 2024: Eligibility Criteria


  • Candidates must have qualified for NEET-UG 2024.

  • Candidates must have the domicile of Uttar Pradesh for government quota seats (Differ for NRI/Management Quota)

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks are required for SC/ST Category candidates.

  • The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2024. Candidates born on or after Jan 2nd, 2007 will not be entertained.
