Assam NEET Counselling 2024 schedule is soon to be announced. DME Assam is the counselling authority to conduct MBBS/BDS Counselling for the seats offered by medical colleges in Assam. As far as MBBS/BDS seats are concerned, there are 1600 UG medical seats and 150 BDS seats in total. There are a total of 13 medical colleges in Assam including Tinsukia Medical College that have recently granted permission for an intake of 100 MBBS seats.

NEET UG 2024 Results have been declared on 4th June, 2024 and as per the latest schedule of MCC, NEET UG 2024 Counselling will be started from 14th August, 2024. Hence Assam MBBS Counselling 2024 is also going to be started soon.

Assam NEET Counselling 2024: Counselling Process

Assam NEET Counselling 2024 is a centralized online counselling process conducted by DME Assam. The sole authority to conduct online Assam MBBS Counselling 2024 is the Directorate of Medical Education i.e. DME, Assam. 

Candidates need to visit the official website at https://dme.assam.gov.in for registration based on the NEET UG 2024 Score. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in government medical colleges in the state of Assam. As of now, there is no private medical college in Assam.

Admissions to the Medical/Dental/Ayush colleges of Assam are solely based on the NEET UG 2024 score. Candidates who are qualified for NEET UG 2024 can only participate in the Assam MBBS Counselling 2024. The details are shared in the article below.

Registration:

• Candidates have to register on https://dme.assam.gov.in and submit the counselling fee which is Rs. 500 (Irrespective of the category) through Internet banking or any online mode.

• DME Assam will publish the Assam MBBS 2024 seat allotment list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:

• Candidates need to fill in online choices at https://dme.assam.gov.in by using their registration number and password generated at the time of registration.

• Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill in choices as many as they wish.

Allotment Result:

• Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the DME Assam at https://dme.assam.gov.in. 

• Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter, which must be produced when reporting to the allotted college.

• Seats are allotted to the candidates based on rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to the Office of DME:

• This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the Office of DME, Assam Khanapara, Guwahati-22, with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.

• Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will take place.

Assam NEET UG Counselling 2024: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have qualified for NEET UG 2024.

• Candidates must have the domicile of Assam (Differ for All India Quota)

• Candidates must have passed 12th from a recognized board

• Candidates must have attained 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2024 (born on or after 31st Dec 2007)
