Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Kollam is one of the top medical institutes in the state of Kerala. The college is popularly known as AIMSR Kollam and very often called Azeezia Medical College, Kollam. The Azeezia Medical College is the first venture of Podikunju Musaliar Memorial Charitable & Educational Trust and an integral unit of Azeezia group of Educational Institutions, established in 2008. 

Since inception of Azeezia Medical College, it is a Muslim minority medical institute, where certain reservation has been arranged for Muslim Minority students. As far as the academic programs are concerned, MBBS program is offered at the Undergraduate level and certain Clinical/Para-Clinical programs are being offered at the Postgraduate level. 

AIMSR Kollam is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences and well recognized by the National Medical Commission (Earlier MCI), New Delhi. Currently 100 MBBS seats are provided through MD/MS degrees. Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences Kollam: Eligibility Criteria

Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Kollam offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. Besides this, AIMSR, Kollam offers MD and MS Courses in several clinical and para-clinical specializations.

To secure a seat in MBBS and PG Courses in AIMSR, Kollam, the candidates need to hold certain eligibility criteria which are discussed below. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling. 

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec 2021. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31st Dec’21 are not eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before the 31st of July in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences Kollam: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All-India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences Kollam offers MD and MS Courses along with the Super specialty program. 

Students who wish to take admission to this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations an integral body of Kerala Higher Educations Institutions. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling.

Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences Kollam: Seat Matrix for Distinct Quotas

As per the guidelines of NMC (Earlier MCI), Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences, Kollam offers admission in specific quotas in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses of the college. 

As per the directives laid down by the National Medical Commission, 50% of seats are reserved for the Muslim Minority quota, 35% of seats are reserved in the Government quota and 15% of seats are reserved under the NRI quota. MBBS Admission Process

Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences offers bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. The MBBS course in this college is 5.5 years long including 1 year of mandatory internship. 

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS in Azeezia Institute of Medical Sciences Kollam need to qualify for NEET-UG followed by the Counselling conducted by DGHS, New Delhi on the behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee. All rounds of counselling are held online.
