Dr. Moopen’s Medical College Hospital formerly known as DM Wayanad Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the top prestigious medical colleges in the Wayanad district of Kerala. The medical college is founded by the visionary personnel and Padma Shree Awardee Dr. Azad Moopen.

Dr. Moopen’s Medical College Wayanad: Eligibility Criteria

Dr. Moopen’s Medical College offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. Besides this, DMMC Wayanad offers MD and MS Courses in certain clinical and para-clinical specializations.

To secure a seat in MBBS and PG Courses in DMMC Wayanad, the candidates need to hold specific eligibility criteria which are discussed below. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling. 

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec 2022. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31st Dec’22 is not eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before the 11th of July in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

Dr. Moopen’s Medical College Wayanad: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. Dr. Moopen’s Medical College Wayanad offers MD and MS Courses along with the Super specialty programs. 

Students who wish to take admission to this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations an integral body of Kerala Higher Education Institutions. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling.

As per the guidelines of NMC (Earlier MCI), Dr. Moopen’s Medical College offers admission in specific quotas in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses of the college.

Dr. Moopen’s Medical College Wayanad: MBBS Admission Process

Dr. Moopen’s Medical College Wayanad offers Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. The MBBS course in this college is 5.5 years long including 1 year of mandatory internship. 

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS in DMMC Wayanad need to qualify for NEET-UG followed by the Counselling conducted by DGHS, New Delhi on the behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee.
