Dr. Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College is one of the oldest private medical colleges in the state of Kerala. The motto behind the inception of this medical institution is to serve the rural people in terms of healthcare services and to promote quality medical education. 

CSI Medical College Karakonam was established in 2002, run by the Church of South India- South Kerala Diocese. CSI Medical College is managed and promoted by the South Kerala Medical Mission. The parent trust is a Charitable Society and completely dedicated to promote quality medical education and encourage scientific temperament in the society, especially in the Christian community. 

Dr. Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College is a Christian minority medical college and so that certain undergraduate seats are reserved as per the collective directions of National Medical Commission and Govt. of Kerala. CSI Medical College is located at the Karakonam village, in the southern border of the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. 

Dr. Somervell CSI Medical College has been conferring quality health education and essential clinical practice through its advanced healthcare facility. in order to provide modern clinical practice and cater essential as well as super speciality health services to the people residing in the districts bordering with Kollam, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts of Kerala. 

Dr. Somervell CSI Medical College is equipped with an attached teaching hospital of 550 beds capacity. CSI Medical College Karakonam: Eligibility Criteria

Dr. Somervell CSI Medical College offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. Besides this, CSIMC Karakonam offers MD and MS Courses in certain clinical and para-clinical specializations.

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec 2022. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31st Dec’22 is not eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before the 11th of July in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

CSI Medical College Karakonam: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. Dr. Somervell CSI Medical College Karakonam offers MD and MS Courses along with the Super specialty programs. 

Students who wish to take admission to this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations an integral body of Kerala Higher Education Institutions. CSI Medical College Karakonam: MBBS Admission Process

Dr. Somervell CSI Medical College Karakonam offers Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. The MBBS course in this college is 5.5 years long including 1 year of mandatory internship. 

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS in CSIMC Karakonam need to qualify for NEET-UG followed by the Counselling conducted by DGHS, New Delhi on the behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee. CSI Medical College Karakonam: MD/MS Admission Process
