Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh is home to several top and advanced medical colleges. J&K also has AIIMS Jammu, which started functioning just a couple of years ago. J&K NEET UG Counselling 2024 schedule is soon to be released after MCC Schedule is released and it is going to be started on 14 August 2024. Candidates interested to take admission in the top colleges in J&K for the MBBS program must read the following article. As far as MBBS seats are concerned, there are 1347 UG medical seats in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. 

As per the latest guidelines of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, from 2024 onwards, Now Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh are open for All India Quota seats which consist 15% of total seats in the state. With a total number of 12 medical colleges and 1 private medical college, J&K has some of the premier medical colleges in India. 

In J&K government medical institutes provide Medical/Dental UG courses for 1347 MBBS seats and 200 seats at Private medical/dental colleges. along with the only Autonomous medical college of the state AIIMS Jammu with 62 MBBS seats. NEET UG 2024 Results is declared on 4th June 2024, hence J&K MBBS Counselling 2024 is starting soon probably in mid-August 2024. 

J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination, Jammu is the sole competent authority to conduct J&K NEET UG Counselling 2024, Candidates can certainly visit https://jkbopee.gov.in.  However, for 100% seats in Autonomous Medical Institute in Jammu & Kashmir, the MCC i.e. Medical Counselling Committee conducts the Counselling for All India Quota seats.

J&K NEET UG Counselling 2024: Counselling Process

Jammu & Kashmir NEET Counselling 2024 is a state Centralized Online Counselling Process. The sole authority to conduct online NEET UG Counselling 2024 is the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination.

Candidates need to visit the official website at https://jkbopee.gov.in for registration based on NEET UG Score 2024. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in various Government/Private medical colleges in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

To secure an MBBS seat in Deemed Medical College, Candidates will have to register at https://mcc.nic.in. All rounds of counselling followed by a Mop-Up round of NEET Counselling 2024 are subject to the availability of MBBS/BDS Seats after the 2nd round.

Registration:

• Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://jkbopee.gov.in and submit the registration fee which is Rs. 1500 through Internet banking or any online mode.

• JKBOPEE, Jammu will publish the J&K NEET UG 2024 state merit list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:

• Candidates need to fill in Online choices at the https://jkbopee.gov.in website by using their registration number and Transaction ID generated at the time of registration.

• Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.

Allotment Result:

• Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination, Jammu at https://jkbopee.gov.in.  

• Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter which needs to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted college.

• Seats are allotted to the candidates based on rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:

• This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.

• Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will be taken place.

J&K MBBS Counselling 2024: Important Dates

There will be a Mop-Up round after Round 2. The mop-up/Final round takes place when seats remain vacant after round 2 on the grounds of non-availability or Non-Reporting of the candidates. Aspirants must be aware of the fact that the Mop-up/Final round will only be carried out by MCC for Deemed/Central Universities and ESIC Institutes.

J&K NEET UG Counselling 2024: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have qualified for NEET-UG 2024.

• Candidates must have a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir/Ladakh (Differ for All India Quota)

• Candidates must have passed 12th from any recognized board.

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks are required for SC/ST Category candidates.

• The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2024. Candidates born on or after Jan 2nd, 2007, will not be entertained. 

J&K MBBS Counselling 2024: Documents Required

Candidates who are qualified for NEET-UG 2024 conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), are eligible to participate in the J&K NEET UG Counselling 2024. Among the sequence of events of NEET-UG Counselling 2024 conducted by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination Jammu, the last event is to report to the college before the last date of admission.

J&K NEET UG Counselling 2024: Reservation Criteria

As per the JKBOPEE Jammu guidelines and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir, certain reservations have been specified for the reserved category of the candidates.
