Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College is one of the oldest medical colleges in Karnataka. The medical college is popularly known as MR Medical College and it was established in 1963. Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College was the second private medical college in India after KMC, Manipal, which had got recognition from MCI (Now NMC), New Delhi in the way back 1972. MR Medical College was established with a vision to bring out quality doctors, impart quality medical education, and improving the health status of the people of the nearby regions by offering healthcare and providing optimum training facilities for its medical students.  

In the beginning, MR Medical College was affiliated with the Gulbarga University till 1996 and thereafter it had got affiliation with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. Currently, Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College is recognized by NMC, New Delhi, and well approved by MoHFW, Govt. of India. The parent organization of MR Medical College is Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society. It is a Private, Unaided, and Charitable Education Trust, which has been rendering its service to society since its inception in 1958.

MR Medical College also got recognition from the British Medical Council. As far as academic programs are concerned, the MR Medical College is presently offering MBBS at the UG level and several MD/MS programs at the PG level. • Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before 31st of March in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.
• Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET-PG for General Category and for reserved category, the requirement is 40 percentile in the same.

MR Medical College, Gulbarga: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. MRMC, Gulbarga offers MD and MS Courses in several clinical and para-clinical specializations, recognized by NMC, New Delhi. 

Students who wish to take admission in this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counseling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority, Bangalore. For All India Quota seats, students need to participate in the counseling conducted by the same. MR Medical College, Gulbarga: MBBS Admission Process

The college offers an MBBS Program that carries a duration of 4.5 years of Academic Course and 1 year of Mandatory Internship. The entire duration of the course is 5.5 years. 

Aspirants seeking admission to MRMC, Gulbarga need to qualify for NEET-UG. Candidates are required to go through a centralized Counselling process conducted by KEA, Bangalore.
