Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital is the one and only private medical college in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The medical college is popularly known as MMMCH, Solan. MMMCH, Solan is an integral unit of Maharishi Markandeshwar University, which was established in 2013. The Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital is spread over an area of 47 acres and is ideally located on Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway at Solan in Himachal Pradesh.

Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital, Solan offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. Aspiring students need to qualify in NEET conducted by NTA followed by the counselling conducted by DMER, Shimla.

To secure a seat in MBBS and PG Courses in Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital, Solan. The candidates need to hold certain eligibility criteria which are discussed below.

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same.

• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile.

• Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET-PG for General Category and for reserved category, the requirement is 40 percentile in the same.

Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College, Solan: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. MMMCH, Solan offers MD and MS Courses in several clinical and paraclinical specializations, recognized by NMC, New Delhi. 

Students who wish to take admission in this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Shimla. Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College, Solan: MBBS Admission Process

Being the Premier Medical College in Himachal Pradesh, Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital, Solan offers Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. The college offers an MBBS Program that carries a duration of 4.5 years of Academic Course and 1 year of Mandatory Internship. The entire duration of the course is 5.5 years. 

Aspirants seeking admission to MMMCH, Solan need to qualify for NEET-UG. Candidates are required to go through a centralized Counselling process conducted by DMER, Shimla. 

All rounds of Counselling are held online. However, if seats remain vacant after the Final/Mop-Up Round of Counselling conducted by DMER, Shimla then Candidates are called as per their NEET Rank for the stray round of Counselling conducted by the college itself as per the guidelines laid down by the NMC, New Delhi. Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital is imparting several P.hD. programs in medical specializations. All admissions shall be made on the basis of an entrance exam followed by the Interview taken by the MMMCH Administration. • Candidates have to be passed MD/MS/PGD with at least 55% marks or the equivalent of Grade ‘B’ on the UGC 7 point scale.
• Candidates who have passed M.Sc (Medical) with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade/CGPA can apply.

Admissions to the Ph.D. (Medical) program are made on the basis of the entrance test followed by an interview in the college/university. Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital a constituent of Maharishi Markandeshwar University and affiliated with the same is offering several courses in distinct specializations in Medicine. Currently, the college is offering MBBS at the UG level.

Note: Every PG Candidate of Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital shall have to comply with a bond to serve the institute as ‘Senior Resident’ for one year after completion of the course. Failing in doing so will invite a penalty of Rs. 5 lacs, which has to be paid to the institute.
