Karnataka is home to several top medical colleges of India including super specialty hospitals and health centres. Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2024 is to be started soon and applications shall be invited from all NEET-UG 2024 qualified candidates. 

KEA Bangalore will be releasing the schedule for Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2024. All eligible candidates can apply through online mode only at https://kea.kar.nic.in. In Karnataka, there are a total of 68 medical colleges offering MBBS/BDS programs as of May 2024. Out of a total of 68 medical colleges, there are 24 Government, 37 Private, and 9 Deemed Medical Colleges. 

As far as total MBBS seats are concerned, there are a total of 9845 MBBS Seats available in Karnataka, Government Medical Colleges of Karnataka offer 3750 MBBS Seats, and 4445 MBBS Seats are available in private medical colleges. In a total of 9 deemed medical colleges, there is an annual intake of 1650 MBBS seats in total.

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2024: Counselling Process

Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2024 is a state Centralized Online Counselling Process. The sole authority to conduct online MBBS/BDS Counselling 2024 is Karnataka Examinations Authority i.e. KEA Bangalore.

Candidates need to visit the official website at https://kea.kar.nic.in for registration based on NEET-UG Score 2024. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in various Government/Private medical colleges in the state of Karnataka.

To secure an MBBS seat in a deemed medical college, Candidates have to register at https://mcc.nic.in. Three rounds of counselling take place followed by a Stray Vacancy round of NEET Counselling 2024 is subject to the availability of MBBS/BDS Seats after the mop-up round.

Admissions to the Medical/Dental/Ayush colleges of Karnataka are solely based on the NEET-UG 2024 score. Only NEET 2024-qualified candidates can participate in the Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2024. Details information is being shared in the article below.

Registration:

• Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://kea.kar.nic.in  and submit the registration fee which is Rs. 500/2500/5500 as per the category in which they are applying, through Internet banking or any online mode.

• KEA Bangalore will publish the Karnataka NEET-UG 2024 merit list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:

• Candidates need to fill in Online choices at the https://kea.kar.nic.in website by using their registration number and transaction ID generated at the time of registration.

• Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.

Allotment Result:

• Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the KEA Bangalore at https://kea.kar.nic.in. 

• Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter which needs to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted college.

• Seats are allotted to the candidates based on rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:

• This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.

• Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will take place.

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2024: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG 2024.

• Candidates must have the domicile of Karnataka (Differ for NRI/Other Quota)

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks are required for SC/ST Category candidates.

• The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2024. Candidates born on or after Jan 2nd, 2007, will not be entertained.

P- Private Seats

It refers to the Medical/Dental seats in the Private Colleges which came under the ambit of KPCF, AMPCK, and KRLMPCA. These terms are explained below.

• 40% of seats in Medical Colleges are reserved as Private quota seats in Karnataka Non-Minority Colleges.

• 50% of seats (Out of 40%) are only for Karnataka Candidates.

• The remaining 50% of seats (Out of 40%) are Open quota for NEET-UG 2024 All India Merit.

N- NRI Seats

It stands for 15% of the total seats reserved for NRI Quota in different Minority, Non-Minority, and Professional Private Medical Colleges in Karnataka.

Q- Other Seats

It means 5% of the total seats are reserved for others, which refers to the candidate, outside Karnataka in KPCF, KRLMPCA, and AMPCK Colleges.
