In Karnataka, there are a total of 68 medical colleges offering MBBS/BDS programs as of May 2023. Out of a total of 68 medical colleges, there are 24 Government, 35 Private, and 9 Deemed Medical Colleges.
As far as total MBBS seats are concerned, there are a total of 6995 MBBS Seats available in Karnataka, Government Medical Colleges of Karnataka offer 2750 MBBS Seats, and 4095 MBBS Seats are available in private medical colleges. In a total of 9 deemed medical colleges, there is an annual intake of 1650 MBBS seats in total.
Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2023: Counselling Process
Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2023 is a state Centralized Online Counselling Process. The sole authority to conduct online MBBS/BDS Counselling 2023 is Karnataka Examinations Authority i.e. KEA Bangalore.
Candidates need to visit the official website at https://kea.kar.nic.in for registration based on NEET-UG Score 2023. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in various Government/Private medical colleges in the state of Karnataka.
To secure an MBBS seat in deemed medical college, Candidates will have to register at https://mcc.nic.in. Four rounds of counselling take place followed by a Stray Vacancy round of NEET Counselling 2023 is subject to the availability of MBBS/BDS Seats after the mop-up round.

Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://kea.kar.nic.in and submit the registration fee which is Rs. 500/2500/5500 as per the category in which they are applying, through Internet banking or any online mode.

KEA Bangalore will publish the Karnataka NEET-UG 2023 merit list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Candidates need to fill in Online choices at the https://kea.kar.nic.in website by using their registration number and transaction id generated at the time of registration.

Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.
Allotment Result:

Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the KEA Bangalore at https://kea.kar.nic.in.

Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter which needs to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted college.

Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG 2023.

Candidates must have the domicile of Karnataka (Differ for NRI/Other Quota)

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks are required for SC/ST Category candidates.

The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2023. Candidates born on or after Jan 2nd, 2005, will not be entertained.
