Tamilnadu MBBS Counselling started on 28th June 2023. Applications are invited from the NEET-UG 2023 qualified candidates for admission to MBBS/BDS programs by DME Chennai. Candidates can apply online till July 10th, 2023 upto 5 pm.

There are almost 8000 Undergraduate seats in the colleges in Tamilnadu. The government medical institutes are having 7775 MBBS/BDS seats and 3098 seats at Private medical colleges. Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023 is being commenced on the 28th of June, 2023. 

The Directorate of Medical Examinations, i.e. DME, Chennai is the sole competent authority to conduct Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS Counselling 2023, however for 100% of seats in deemed medical institutes in Tamil Nadu, the MCC i.e. Medical Counselling Committee New Delhi will carry out the Counselling for All India Quota seats.

Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023: Counselling Process

Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023 is a state Centralized Online Counselling Process. The sole authority to conduct online NEET-UG Counselling 2023 is Directorate of Medical Education i.e. DME, Chennai.

Candidates need to visit the official website at https://ugreg.tnmedicalonline.co.in for registration based on NEET-UG Score 2023. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in various Government/Private medical colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu.

In order to secure an MBBS/BDS seat in Deemed Medical College, Candidates will have to register at https://mcc.nic.in. There are four rounds of counselling from 2021 followed by a stray vacancy round of NEET Counselling 2023 is subject to the availability of MBBS/BDS Seats after the mop-up round.

Admissions to the Medical/Dental/Ayush programs in the colleges of Tamil Nadu are solely based on the NEET 2023 score. Only NEET-UG 2023 qualified candidates can participate in the Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023. You will find more details on counselling process, eligibility and seat matrix in the following article.

Registration & Application Form:

• Candidates who wish to secure an MBBS/BDS seat in Tamil Nadu, need to register themselves on the official website https://ugreg.tnmedicalonline.co.in to participate in The Tamilnadu MBBS/BDS Medical Counselling 2023.

• Candidates are advised to fill out the application form for Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023 carefully as they will not be able to edit the details, once the application form is submitted.

• Candidates must then print a copy of the duly filled application form on A4 Size paper. Sign in the space provided on the Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling Application Form.

• Candidates are advised to attach all the necessary enclosures in an A4 Size Cover, along with a copy of the filled application form, and then must be sent to the following address.

Choice Filling:

• Candidates need to fill in Online choices at the https://ugreg.tnmedicalonline.co.in website by using their registration number and transaction id generated at the time of registration.

• Candidates have to fill their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill in choices as many as they wish.

State Merit/Rank List:

• The Selection Committee Chennai then prepares a state merit list of the candidates, who have registered for Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023.

• The provisional Allotment Order is prepared according to the marks obtained in NEET- UG 2023. Candidates can download the allotment letter online from https://tnmedicalselection.org before reporting to the college itself.

Choice Filling and Locking:

• Tamilnadu MBBS Counselling 2023 participating candidates need to submit their preference (Course/College) online through the Choice filling.

• An OTP needs to be confirmed by the registered mobile number of the candidate.

• After locking the choices, the candidate must take a printout of the choices submitted by the candidates for future reference.

Seat Allotment List:

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education Chennai releases the seat allotment list, which is prepared on the basis of the choices filled by the candidates and ranks in the state merit list. Selected candidates need to report to the allotted institute along with all essential documents within the stipulated date/time.

Reporting to Allotted College:

• This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.

• Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents would have taken place.

• Candidates who are allotted seats in Rounds 1 & 2, need to report to the college physically with all required documents, however in Mop up and stray vacancy round, merely payment of fees and downloading the allotment order will be considered as Joining the allotted college itself.

Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have qualified for NEET-UG 2023.

• Candidates must have the domicile of Tamil Nadu (Differ for NRI/Other Quota)

• Candidates must have passed 12th from any recognized board.

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks are required for SC/ST Category candidates.

• The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2023. Candidates born on or after Jan 2nd, 2006, will not be entertained. 

Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023: Required Documents

Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023: Seat Matrix 2023

Tamilnadu MBBS Counselling 2023 is going on from June 28th June 2023. Candidates need to qualify for NEET-UG 2023 followed by the counselling conducted by DME Chennai. More details can be obtained from https://tnmedicalselection.org. 

As far as the seat matrix is concerned, Tamilnadu Medical Colleges offer Government, Minority, and Non-Minority medical colleges. Reservation to respective categories is as per the guidelines of DME Chennai.    

Total MBBS/BDS seats are offered either from Government or Private medical institutes. Further Private medical colleges are classified into Minority and Non-Minority colleges. Details of MBBS/BDS seats are listed below.

Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023: Counselling Process

The Directorate of Medical Education i.e. DME, which can also be visited at https://tnmedicalselection.net is the designated authority of the Govt. of Tamilnadu to conduct the Tamil Nadu MBBS Counselling 2023. DME, Chennai conducts the counselling for the allotment of seats in various Medical/Dental degrees and Diploma courses. Seat matrix formulated as per the latest directives of DME Chennai

• 85% Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges

• 100% of seats in Private Non-Minority Colleges 

• 100% of seats in Private Minority Colleges 

• 100% of seats in Private University Colleges i.e. Deemed University

• 15% of NRI Quota.

• 5% of Others' Quota

The process of Tamilnadu MBBS Counselling 2023 has been started on 28th June 2023 and the registration process begins as per the notification of DME, Chennai. The sequence of events for Tamilnadu MBBS Counselling 2023 is mentioned below.

First Round:

Candidates who are qualified in NEET-UG 2023 can participate in the Tamilnadu MBBS Counselling 2023 and apply online at https://tnmedicalselection.org. Candidates need to fill in academic and personal details along with a contact number and an active mail id for future communication.   

Second Round:

From 2023 onwards, no fresh registration is allowed for Tamilnadu NEET-UG Counselling 2023 in the second round of NEET-UG Counselling 2023. Cadnidates who have done registration in the first round shall only be considered in the second round to fill fresh choices in case of non-allotment in the prior round.

Mop-Up Round:

This round of Tamilnadu MBBS Counselling 2023 is the last one followed by the stray vacancy round, and is subject to the availability of seats after the completion of Round 2. The net vacant seats on account of Non-Joining, Non-Reporting of round 2 will be published in the seat matrix and eligible candidates have to submit fresh choices.
