UP MBBS Counselling 2023: Registration, Important Dates, Counselling Process, Participating Colleges, Fees, and More

Uttar Pradesh MBBS Counselling 2023 schedule is announced. Candidates can now register from July 25th, 2023 from 11 am onwards online through the official portal of UPDGME. UPDGME i.e. Uttar Pradesh Directorate General of Medical Education and Training is being assigned to carry out the Counselling process for all medical/dental colleges to ensure admissions to MBBS/BDS programs. Candidates can visit https://dgme.up.gov.in for the latest counselling updates.

UP MBBS 2023 Counselling will begin on 25th July 2023 from 11 am onwards. Currently, UPDGME conducts counselling for 35 Government and 31 Private Medical Colleges in 85% state quota. There are a total of 9153 MBBS Seats in the medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh. 

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS in the top medical colleges in UP need to participate in the counselling that goes up to four rounds followed by a stray vacancy round. From 2023 onwards, 13 new government medical colleges are soon to be operational as per the latest announcement made by the designated authority of the state of UP.

UP MBBS Counselling 2023: Counselling Process

UP MBBS Counselling 2023 schedule has been released. Interested candidates who are NEET-UG 2023 qualified with certain eligibility can participate in the online counselling process from July 25th, 2023. DGME i.e. Directorate General of Medical Education & Training is the counselling authority of the state for conducting the entire counselling process for the students seeking admission to MBBS/BDS programs in the colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

The entire Counselling process is conducted online by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Lucknow on behalf of UPDGME. Candidates need to qualify for NEET-UG 2023 followed by the counselling conducted by UPDGME Lucknow. For more details, candidates can visit https://dgme.up.gov.in. 

Registration:

• Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://upneet.gov.in and submit the registration fee which is Rs. 2,000 through Internet banking or any online mode.

• UP DGME will publish the UP MBBS 2023 merit list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:

• Candidates need to fill in online choices at https://upneet.gov.in by using their registration number and password created at the time of registration.

• Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.

Documents Verification:

• Candidates need to upload all the original documents required for pursuing the counselling process.

• As per the selected Nodal center by the candidates at the time of registration, candidates need to produce all original documents at the selected Nodal center, and receive the confirmation slip for future reference. 

Allotment Result:

• Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the UP DGME website.

• Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter, which must be produced when reporting to the allotted college.

• Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:

• This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.

• Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will take place.

Security Deposit:

Candidates participating in the UP MBBS Counselling 2023, need to deposit security money to pursue the counselling process in order to confirm their admission to UP Medical/Dental colleges. It is mandatory to deposit the security money prior to the choice filling, so that candidate can move forward with the choice filling and merit list.

UP MBBS Counselling 2023: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have qualified for NEET-UG 2023.

• Candidates must have the domicile of Uttar Pradesh for government quota seats (Differ for NRI/Management Quota)

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks are required for SC/ST Category candidates.

• The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec 31st, 2023. Candidates born on or after Jan 2nd, 2006 will not be entertained.
