West Bengal MBBS Counselling schedule is out. NEET-UG 2023 qualified candidates can participate in the state counselling conducted by WBMCC i.e. West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee Kolkata. Candidates must visit https://wbmcc.nic.in for registration and to participate in the counselling process. As per the schedule published, candidates can now register for the West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2023 from 11 am on 25th July 2023.
In West Bengal, there are a total of 31 medical colleges offering MBBS program as of May 2023. There are 24 government, and 7 private medical colleges located in different districts of West Bengal.

West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2023: Counselling Process
West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2023 is a state-centralised online counselling process. The sole authority to conduct online NEET UG Counselling 2023 is West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee i.e. WBMCC, Kolkata.
Candidates need to visit the official website at https://wbmcc.nic.in for registration on the basis of NEET UG Score 2023. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in various Government/Private medical colleges in the state of West Bengal.
As per the latest order of the Supreme Court, all the rounds of centralised counselling for All India Quota including the stray vacancy round will be conducted by the MCC itself. There are three rounds of counselling that will take place from 2023 onwards followed by a stray vacancy round. The last round of counselling of West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2023 is subject to the availability of MBBS/BDS Seats after the Mop-up round.

Registration:

Candidates have to register at https://wbmcc.nic.in and submit the counselling fee which is Rs. 1500/2000 (subject to the category), through Internet banking or any online mode.

Choice Filling:

Candidates need to fill in online choices at https://wbmcc.nic.in by using their registration number and password generated at the time of registration.

Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.
Allotment Result:

Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the WBMCC Kolkata at https://wbmcc.nic.in.

Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter, which must be produced when reporting to the allotted college.

Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.
Reporting to Allotted College:

This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.

Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will be taken place.
Counselling Fee:
West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2023: Domicile Category
candidates need to produce a domicile category certificate for admission to MBBS/BDS programs under 85% state quota. To participate in the West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2023, a candidate has to provide a domicile certificate at the time of reporting to the allotted college. The following criteria have been mentioned as per the government of West Bengal directives regarding state domicile. More details can be obtained from https://wbmcc.nic.in.
Proforma a1: candidates, who have been residing in the state of West Bengal for at least 10 years as of Dec 2023, shall fall in the a1 domicile category.
Proforma a2: candidates who have been residing in West Bengal for 10 years or more and also have passed 10+2 from the state of West Bengal before Dec 2023 or before. Such candidates can claim their domicile in Category a2.
Proforma b: candidates, who have not been residing in the state of West Bengal, but one of their parents is a permanent resident of West Bengal and has a permanent address in the state, will fall in the domicile category b.
Note: Domicile certificate obtained from the West Bengal e-district portal i.e. https://edistrict.wb.gov.in/PACE will also be considered as proof of domicile.

As per the latest Seat Matrix released by the Director of Health & Family Welfare Govt. of West Bengal, there are 31 medical colleges in West Bengal. 24 government medical colleges carry 3825 MBBS seats while the private medical colleges carry 1350 MBBS seats.
As per the reservation criteria formulated by WBUHS Kolkata, 50% of total seats are reserved for the government quota, and 35% of seats are for the management quota.
