Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the newest established private medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The medical college is a minority medical institute, which was established in 2016. However, the parent organization, Nimra Educational Society was founded back in 1991. 

Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences is popularly known as NIMS Vijayawada. The city is a traditional heritage capital of Andhra Pradesh. NIMS Vijayawada has adopted a dynamic, global, high-quality, creative, and communicative approach to medical education. Since the inception of NIMS Vijayawada in 2016, the college had granted an annual intake of 150 MBBS students with due recognition from the National Medical Commission, New Delhi. 

As far as the affiliation of NIMS Viajyawada is concerned, the medical college is affiliated with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. Currently, the college is only imparting programs at the Undergraduate level but on 2022 onwards, the college management is planning to start academic programs for Postgraduate specialties in several broad clinical and para-clinical specialties.

Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences Vijayawada: Eligibility Criteria

Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences Vijayawada offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec’ 2021. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31st Dec’21 are not eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile.

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences Vijayawada offers Nursing Courses along with the Para Medical Programs. 

Students who wish to take admission to this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Vijayawada. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling.

Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences Vijayawada: Seat Matrix for Distinct Quotas

As per the guidelines of NMC (Earlier MCI), Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences, Vijayawada offers admission in specific quotas in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses of the college.

Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences offers Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. The MBBS course in this college is 5.5 years long including 1 year of mandatory internship.
