Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the most premier medical institutes in the state of Chhattisgarh. The medical institute is widely known as SSIMS, Bhilai. The city of Bhilai is widely acknowledged as an industrial town of the state of Chhattisgarh. 

SSIMS, Bhilai was established in 2013 by the Shri Gangajali Education Society. However, the academic programs had commenced in 2016 as soon as the recognition was bestowed from the National Medical Commission. 

SSIMS, Bhilai is one among the very few private medical colleges in Chhattisgarh that has also been imparting MD/MS programs through its PG Courses. Undoubtedly all PG programs are well recognized by the NMC and have also been approved by MoHFW, Govt. of India.   

Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhilai is well supported by the Government of Chhattisgarh. SSIMS, Bhilai is affiliated with Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University, Raipur. Admission shall be made to SSIMS, Bhilai on the basis of NEET Score followed by the counselling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Raipur. 

The proposed Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences in the region is the very first medical institution in India to be named after Adi Shri Shankaracharya and blessed by all Jagadgurus. Currently, SSIMS, Bhilai is imparting MBBS at the UG level. The candidate must be NEET-UG qualified with the required percentile.

SSIMS, Bhilai: Eligibility Criteria

Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhilai offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. Aspiring students need to qualify in NEET conducted by NTA followed by the counselling conducted by DME, Raipur.

To secure a seat in MBBS and PG Courses in Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhilai. The candidates need to hold certain eligibility criteria which are discussed below.

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• Candidates need to attain 17 years of age. Less than mentioned age will not be entertained in any circumstances.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before 31st of March in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.
• Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET-PG for General Category and for reserved category, the requirement is 40 percentile in the same.

SSIMS, Bhilai: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. Shri Shankaracharya Medical College, Bhilai offers MD and MS Courses in several clinical and paraclinical specializations, recognized by NMC, New Delhi. 

Students who wish to take admission in this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Raipur. For All India Quota seats, students need to participate in the counselling conducted by MCC.

SSIMS, Bhilai: Seat Matrix for Distinct Quotas

Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhilai is the premier medical institute in the state of Chhattisgarh. The college has gained so much appreciation for producing expert medical professionals and humane doctors of distinct specializations.

Being the Premier Medical College in Chhattisgarh, Shri Shankaracharya Medical College, Bhilai offers Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. The college offers an MBBS Program that carries a duration of 4.5 years of Academic Course and 1 year of Mandatory Internship. The entire duration of the course is 5.5 years. 

Aspirants seeking admission to SSIMS, Bhilai need to qualify for NEET-UG. Candidates are required to go through a centralized Counselling process conducted by DME, Raipur. Students need to visit https://cgdme.in for participating in the counselling process. 

All rounds of Counselling are held online. However, if seats remain vacant after the Final/Mop-Up Round of Counselling conducted by DME, Raipur then Candidates are called as per their NEET Rank for the stray round of Counselling conducted by the college itself as per the guidelines laid down by the NMC, New Delhi.
