The state of Uttar Pradesh is known for having one of the best medical institutions across the country with Modern Infrastructure and Accredited Labs. UPDGME i.e. stands for Uttar Pradesh Directorate General of Medical Education and Training is being assigned to carry out the Counselling process for all Medical Institutes including the privately established Colleges to ensure admissions to MBBS/BDS.

UP NEET 2021 MBBS Counselling rightly begins from Jan 20th, 2022. Currently, UPDGME conducts counselling for 26 Government and 24 Private Medical Colleges in 85% state quota. There are a total of 7328 MBBS Seats in the Medical Institutions of Uttar Pradesh. 

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS in the Top Medical Colleges need to participate in the counselling that goes up to two rounds followed by a Mop-Up round. From 2021 onwards, Unclaimed/Vacant seats after the 2nd round of MCC Counselling won’t revert to the state quota. MCC counselling for AIQ will go on till the stray round of counselling by the MCC itself.

UP DGME fills 85% seats of the Govt./Govt. Aided Medical Colleges of the state while 100% Open seats of Private/Trust owned Colleges are also counselled by the DGME, UP.

UP NEET Counselling 2021: Counselling Process

UP NEET Counselling 2021 is a full-fledged sequence of events that needs to be participated by the Aspirants seeking admission to MBBS/BDS Course in the Top Medical Institutions of Uttar Pradesh. 

The entire Counselling process is conducted online by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Lucknow on the behalf of UPDGME. Candidates are advised to be ascertained of the entire counselling process mentioned below.

Registration:

• Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://upneet.gov.in and submit the registration fee which is Rs. 2,000 through Internet banking or any online mode.
• UP DGME will publish the UP NEET 2021 merit list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in the further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:

• Candidates need to fill in Online choices at the https://upneet.gov.in website by using their registration number and Transaction Id generated at the time of registration.
• Candidates have to fill their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.

Allotment Result:

• Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the UP DGME website.
• Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter which needs to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted college.
• Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:

• This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.
• Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will take place.

UP NEET Counselling 2021: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG 2021.
• Candidates must have the domicile of Uttar Pradesh (Differ for NRI/Other Quota)
• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks required for SC/ST Category candidates.
• The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec’31st 2021. Candidates born on or after Jan’2nd 2004, will not be entertained.

UP NEET Counselling 2021: Documents Required

UP DGME releases the merit list along with an allotment letter for shortlisted candidates on the official portal of DGME i.e. https://updgme.in. The letter contains details of the candidate, secured rank, category, allotted college, and reporting schedule. 

Candidates will be required to report at the allotted college physically for document verification and to confirm their respective seats in the Top Medical Institutions of the state. The required list of documents that need to be carried while reporting to the college is listed below.

• NEET UG 2021 Admit card
• NEET UG 2021 Scorecard
• Category Certificate (If applicable)
• Domicile Certificate (For Karnataka Candidates only)
